Applications
Embossing
Embossing is the creation of an embossed image under high temperature and pressure using photoengraving magnesium, CNC brass and other dies on various substrates including paper, leather, textiles and wood. The final result is an impactful presentation of a single, multi-level or three-dimensional raised image. Carefully crafted three-dimensional designs come to life through engraving, and no other techniques can match the tactile quality of a beautiful emboss.
Foil Stamping
Foil stamping is a versatile printing technique for creating striking visuals and is widely used on product packaging, stationery, letterheads, book covers, greeting cards, business cards, wedding invitations and trading cards. Unlike CNC brass dies are used for long runs, photoengraving magnesium dies are efficient and cost effective for short & medium run printing jobs. A good stamping die plays a significant role in the foil stamping effect.
Thermal Dies
Magnesium thermal dies can replace inexpensive steel rule dies and be used to produce multiple vinyl decals. Chemically etched magnesium eliminates the time-consuming bending of steel rule dies.
Letterpress
As one of the oldest methods of printing, letterpress transfers ink from CNC Brass and photoengraving Magnesium relief plates to obtain crisp patterns and typography. It also provides greater visual definition for lettering and artwork in limited edition books, high-end invitations and stationery.
Flexography
Flexography is a process for producing high-quality, easy-to-use rubber printing plates. This process is widely used in the packaging printing. By creating a magnesium master and transferring the reverse image to a matrix plate, several economical rubber plates can be produced.
Intaglio
Intaglio (also called gravure) is a historical process of engraving images or text into a die (copper, magnesium, or zinc) plate , then filling recesses with ink and transferring the ink to the paper to create high-quality stationery, business cards, and other fine art.
Plaques & awards
Company logos and messages can be created by a photoengraving process on Magnesium, Copper, Brass and Zinc plates. It is possible to create a rich and luxury, glossy effect in an affordable cost for making plaques and awards.
Signage Nameplates
The photo engraving process can create a solid, sculptural look and eye-catching effect for interior and exterior signage and nameplates. Magnesium offers unique advantages, depending on the application and the designer's intent.
